In order to introduce corrections or new functionalities in the existing system, a practical test is required in a realistic environment with all system dependencies. The purpose of the Staging Enviroment is to create this environment to imitate the Picalike system.

Basically, with the help of Ansible and Docker, docker images are downloaded from Harbor and started on the defined server (currently Dev01) with the necessary variables.

To do this, the individual services must be built in advance locally with the right docker tag and pushed into the harbor. The Staging Enviroment also assumes that a Zookeeper Ensemble has already been defined and started for the Eco-System “staging”.
